As a member of the American Tarot Association, I adhere to the code of ethics agreed upon by members, as well as some of my own. The following is the list of standards I hold myself to, and the promises I make to every client:

I will serve the best interests of all clients, conducting my professional activities, tarot, astrology, and sortilege services, without causing or intending to cause harm, shunning any form of exploitation, and avoiding incompetence and malpractice.

I will treat all of my clients with equal respect, regardless of anything to do with them— including, but not limited to, their origin, race, religion, gender, age, sexual preference, orientation, moral differences, health status, criminal background, color, size, shape, how many ears they have, left or right handed, vanilla or chocolate, which leg they put in their pants first. You get the idea.

I will keep confidential the names of clients and all information shared or discussed during readings, unless otherwise requested by the client or required by a court of law.

I will always respect clients’ right to be self- governing; it’s for them to make their own decisions about their life.

I will respect my clients' right to refuse or terminate their reading at any time, regardless of prior consent.

I will recommend clients consult a licensed professional for advice of a legal, financial, medical, psychological, or any field, or of any nature, that I am not qualified to provide. If trained in one of these areas, I will clearly differentiate between the service being provided and any professional advice additionally provided.

I will represent honestly my qualifications, including educational credentials, levels of certification and experience.

I will operate with transparency in dealings with clients by making plain and agreeing to any fees or costs upfront, and by making sure clients understand the nature of the product or service they’re purchasing.

I will only read for those who are of majority age (18 in most states) and who have sufficient mental capacity and clarity to understand the details of what they are purchasing.

I will provide services for those who have given permission to be served; I will not attempt to perform any services, or read, for unwitting third parties, except on a case-by-case basis when clients appear to have innocent intentions.

I will never specifically predict death, disease, or fertility; if they appear during the service I will mention them, but I will never approach a reading looking for them specifically. The cost of misinterpretation would be far too great, and no reader is “100% Accurate 100% of the Time.” (Sorry- not-sorry to all those readers on Etsy who advertise that they are...)

I will never identify a customer as being subject to a curse, nor will I ever offer to remove said curse for a fee.

I recognize that all ATA members have the same rights and obligations, and I will always respect and honor my co-members.
